Many Credit Cards Accepted at Intertops

Just a heads-up…. many MasterCard and Visa credit cards are accepted at Interops.com — one of the few 5-star rated sites at The Online Casino Gambling Directory. Last night, I used two different Visas and a MasterCard to make deposits and they went through without a hitch.

After making a deposit at Intertops.com, you need to do a Chip Transfer to get the money into the Casino, Poker Room, or Sportsbook; you will see the Chip Transfer in the Cashier, just below the Deposit link that you just used to make the deposit. And when you want to make a withdrawal, there are a couple of options that are available; the Bank Wire works great, but there is a $30 fee that is charged by one of the banks that they use to transfer money into US bank accounts.

New Feature at The Online Casino Gambling Directory

I received emails asking for a short, straightforward list of gambling sites. So, here you go!

These lists display just the essential information about each site, including:

  • Name
  • US player policy
  • Star rating
  • Free chips
  • Bonus percentage
  • Minimum deposit to get the bonus
  • Maximum deposit eligible for the bonus

Of course, you can still use the original, more extensive lists that are returned from performing a search.

Major Improvements at The Online Casino Gambling Directory

I have made some major improvements to The Online Casino Gambling Directory as result of the feedback that I have been getting about the site.

  • All sites have been given a Star Rating from 1 (low) to 5 (high). I assigned the ratings based on a number of factors, including length of time online, ease of deposits and withdrawals, and customer service. Look to the 5-star sites for the best in online gambling.
  • I added a new Hot Search — the 5-star sites — to make it easy to get directly to the search results that will be most useful to you.
  • The Narrow your search section on the left side of the search results page has been streamlined to make it easier to narrow your search results. Just pick an option from the drop-down lists, check boxes, and radio buttons, and the search results page is automatically updated to reflect what you’ve selected.
  • I’ve added the ability to narrow your search results based on Language and Currency. For those players outside of the United States that would like to play at a gaming site in your native language and in currencies other than USD, now you can easily locate those gaming sites using these filters in the Narrow your search section.

Thanks for the feedback, and keep it coming!

Oxford University Gambling Survey

If you would like to contribute to mankind’s knowledge — or at least contribute a data point to this survey :) — check out the Oxford University Gambling Survey. I took the survey in about 15 minutes, and it covered a wide range of areas directly and indirectly related to online gambling.

As a thank you, people who complete the survey will be entered in a drawing for a 80GB video iPod (they are giving away six).

BLACKLISTED: Mayagaming Casino, Poker, and Sportsbook

Playing for real money at online gaming sites carries a certain amount of risk. Some sites are less than honest, and you may find a handful that do not pay up when you are owed money. Unfortunately, I have found just such a site — Mayagaming — and it has today earned the right to be the inaugural entry into The Online Casino Gambling Directory Blacklist.

Mayagaming operates a Casino, Poker, and Sportsbook. This outfit owes me over $250 USD; I have been trying to collect this money since July 2007, and repeated emails go unanswered. Chats with their live help support staff refer me to the same email addresses that I sent my emails to in the first place.

It is surprising to me that this site will not pay up, since I had been playing at Mayagaming since the beginning of the year, and was paid money owed to me in June 2007 with very little hassle. I wonder what happened? I invite a representative from Mayagaming to fill me in.

Put simply, do not play at the Mayagaming properties. There are plenty of other casinos, poker rooms, and sportsbooks out there.

Challenge to the UIGEA scheduled for September

The Federal Reserve Board has been named in an action to challenge implementation of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006. The action was filed by the Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming Association, Inc. in June of 2007, and is tentatively scheduled to be heard in September.

While not much may come of the hearing — surely, the law will not overturned — at least we may get some clarification on the law and how it will be enforced.

UFC 71: Liddell the Heavy Favorite

If you have not watched an Ultimate Fighting Championship match, you NEED to. In my opinion, this is one of the most engaging, exciting, and compelling sports to come along in the last 20 years.

Fight fans are gearing up for what should be an epic bout when Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell battles Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in an Ultimate Fighting Light Heavyweight Championship event Saturday in Las Vegas. Liddell is anywhere from a -200 to a -170 favorite in Saturday’s matchup.

You can wager on the bout at any number of sportsbooks. In addition to Intertops.com, USD Bet is another option that is a good choice for fans from around the globe.

UFC:71 is a rematch of a 2003 fight – Pride: Final Conflict – in Japan, in which Jackson defeated Liddell by TKO. That fight was Liddell’s last loss.

US DOJ Seizes US $9.25M from Citadel Commerce

Citadel Commerce provides payment processing solutions and other related services to online merchants. Earlier this week, they announced that US $9.25M of their reserve funds had been seized by the United States Department of Justice. Citadel states in the press release that they are “continuing to work with the DoJ through its legal counsel to resolve the situation.”

There was no word on the US DOJ site with any additional information about the seizure.

Internet Gambling Study Act

Shelly Berkely (D) from Nevada on Friday introduced in the U.S. Congress the Internet Gambling Study Act. This bill is intended to:

provide for a study by the National Academy of Sciences to identify the proper response of the United States to the growth of Internet gambling

Horray!

If passed, the study would last a year and may provide a blueprint for how Internet gambling could be regulated in the United States. It is possible — in my opinion — that the passage of this bill would at least delay the enforcement of the UIGEA while the study is conducted.

The bill has been referred to the House Ways and Means Committee.
